Abstract

Roy Stafford offers an introduction to the French film "Tirez sur le pianiste" (Shoot the pianist), which was directed by François Truffaut in 1960. Stafford also explains the context of French "nouvelle vague" cinema.

Roy Stafford works as a freelance provider of media education services and offers training for teachers wishing to increase their knowledge and understanding of media education in schools and colleges. He has extensive experience at all levels of formal education, but primarily 14-19 and adult education. Roy Stafford and colleagues from 'in the picture' run the Media Education Certificate course at Trinity All Saints College, Leeds.
