Abstract

Jacek Szklarek's dissertation deals with language education in the age of new media. The author presents concepts of media criticism by Walter Ong, Neil Postman, and Jacques Ellul. They discuss how language, culture, and education are related to one another. Szklarek outlines the ways in which the authors' opinions differ and where they are in agreement.
