Abstract Schools today have to face a new challenge: Teaching Media Literacy. This cannot be fulfilled by providing computer- and internet education alone, but has to include social, ethical and emotional aspects as well. For the schools, this means acquiring the appropriate equipment and educational tools for introducing new media into everyday school life. The necessary adjustments of learning organisation require flexibility, vision and commitment. |

Aufenanger, Stefan Stefan Aufenanger (* 1950) is professor of Pedagogy and media education at the University of Hamburg. His main research topics are electronic media and the family, television and children, children and advertising, multimedia in education, moral education, and qualitative research methods.
