Abstract

Jan Uwe Rogge reports examples from his therapeutic work with children dealing with frightening imagery negotiated through the media. He emphasises the importance of children’s ability to cope with fear and illustrates ways in which parents and producers can support this competency.

Rogge, Jan Uwe

Jan-Uwe Rogge is family- and communication-advisor with his own practice. He is author of many books published by the Rowohlt-Verlag. A seleciton of his most famous books is “Kinder brauchen Grenzen”, "Ängste machen Kinder stark", "Der große Erziehungsberater", "Kinder können Fernsehen" which were translated in more than 15 languages. Jan-Uwe Rogge is one of the most renowned educational experts in and outside Germany.
